Lately I’ve been meeting a lot of interesting people.
In 2015 I committed to living life more adventurously and one of the results has been run-in’s with fascinating and beautiful people. I’ve been trying to create more opportunities for these dots to collide by organizing/participating in brunches, dinners and events for friends.
This weekend I had the opportunity to spend some time with a friend from StartingBloc’s PartyPak, a unique group of folks whom I’ve gotten to appreciate a lot over the last two years. He’s been traveling for the last two years and one of the insights that he shared with me is that when you travel with people and spend all your time with them you get a unique understanding of who you are and what quirks you have–things you do, appreciate, and don’t appreciate.
I think this is an important and overlooked aspect of traveling, but I think it pays of in dividends over time in life, love, and business.
Spending more time with friends that travel makes me want to pack up and ship out. I’ve decided that I’m staying put, at least through 2015. I’m really excited for what is to come in 2016 and I’m very excited to spend more time with more people that I look up to and appreciate.
